Painting Padres

Prep & Repair Work

Paint hides nothing. Cracked stucco, soft fascia and popped drywall seams come straight back through a fresh coat within a season, so we fix them first.

What's included

  • Stucco crack repair, patching and texture matching
  • Drywall patching, seam repair and texture blending
  • Wood rot replacement on fascia, trim and door jambs
  • Deck, fence and pergola staining and sealing

Inland San Diego County heat and coastal moisture both work on a house, just differently. Inland, stucco hairlines open and south-facing trim dries out and splits. On the coast, salt air rusts nail heads and holds moisture in wood. We repair what we find, match the existing texture so the patch disappears, then prime it before any color goes on. Decks and fences get washed, sanded where needed, and sealed with a penetrating stain rather than a film that will peel in two summers.

Questions

Prep & Repair Work FAQs

Can you match my existing stucco texture?

Yes — dash, lace, sand and smooth finishes are all matchable. We do a test patch and let you look at it before we blend the whole area.

Do you replace rotted wood?

We replace rotted fascia, trim and jamb sections as part of exterior prep, and we show you the rot before we cut it out.

Stain or paint for a fence?

Stain, almost always. A penetrating stain wears rather than peels, so future maintenance is a wash-and-recoat instead of a scrape.
